ARK members Ken Williams & Bob Bean organized our first poker run of 2009. We gathered most of our group at the Pattersonville rest area on the NYS Thruway and picked up the rest of the group at the Information Center in Vail Mills. Once we were all gathered together we headed for our 1st official stop of the day.... a garage sale! You didn't expect us to pass a garage sale did you?(actual stop was a gas station on Rte. 30 in Mayfield.)

  After a quick doughnut & coffee break it was on to our next stop, Charlie John's Store in Speculator. Some of the members ventured over to the Speculator Department store while the rest hit up the little doughnut shop next to Charlie John's. Notice a theme here?

  The weather was threatining rain so we voted to skip our next scheduled stop which was a rest area with a beautiful view on Rte. 30 near Indian Lake. Instead we went straight to our destination, The Adirondack Museum. We sat in the parking garage and ate before going inside. The museum is a really interesting place and we spent hours looking around and dodging the rain showers. Once we were back in the parking lot, we did our final drawing. Bob Bean had the best hand, George Rochester came in 2nd, and Faith Villani finished 3rd. Even with the rain it was a great day. Can't with till the next one!

  ARK members travelled to Syracuse, NY for the 10th Annual Syracuse Nationals held at the NYS Fair Grounds. Although it was a working weekend, to promote our show, we still had tme for some fun.

  We all stayed at the Maplewood Inn and kind of took the place over. We even set up a nice pizza party in the parking lot on Saturday night. It helps to bribe security with pizza, lol!

  ARK threw it's annual Thank You Party for club members and the Adirondack Nationals Volunteers. The party was held at Picards Grove in Voorheesville, NY. Everyone seemed to have a great time. Another area club, the Capital Area Rods held their picnic at the same time. It was nice having all those car people in one spot!   

  ARK members travelled to Cooperstown, NY and followed the Cooperstown Beverage Trail. Our stops included Fly Creek Cider Mill, Brewery Ommegang, Cooperstown Brewing Company and Bear Pond Winery.

  For dinner we stopped at Brooks BBQ! Our poker run winners were Roxanne, George, and Dana. We all had a great time at each of our stops (translation: we dropped a lot of coin) and would recommend this trip to anyone.   ARK members were invited by the Adirondack A's automobile club to visit the Sichel antique car collection. The collection of over fifty early 1900's cars was collected by Mr. Jerry Sichel of Venezuela, South America and stored here in Schenectady, NY.

  Unfortunately this will be our last visit to the collection as Mr. Sichel past away recently and the collection is in the process of being sold off. Some of the highlights were a Stanley Steamer, a Little, a Packard, and one of six known to exist world war one ambulances, the only one that still runs!

  ARK INVADES CHATHAM BOWL !!!!

 In a break with with our usual suit and tie affair, this years Christmas party was held at Chatham Bowl. We all donned our new Albany Rods & Kustoms ROLLERS bowling shirts and had a great time. There was a Sinatra impersonator, a nice buffet, prize raffles, trophies, presents, and more fun than we could imagine! Heck, we even had an ELF! But with all that, something was missing. Our dear friend and the person who planned the whole event was unable to attend! We missed you George! Glad your feeling better.
